Mambo's Cafe - Buford: Reviews & Ratings
Visiting family and decided to try this place. The service was excellent, very friendly server and very attentive. I’ve tried many Peruvian and Cuban restaurants and the food here was ok. Not the best I’ve had but fairly good. We had the Ceviche, Paella, Ropa Vieja, Lomo Saltado and a few more dishes. Overall it was good but for some reason missing something, just can’t pinpoint it exactly. I would recommend it just to try it out.
Mambos espresso martini with tequila is perfection. The bartender recommended I try one and I never looked back. The food must be tried, I’m working my way through the menu because you can’t get this food at your local Mexican restaurant. The thing that I love the most about Mambos is the vibe. Friday nights live music has everyone dancing and singing the words to their favorite songs. Try this place and when a song comes on you love, get up and dance. You’re welcome!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! The food was amazingly delicious. The food presentation was very cute. The price is reasonable for the portion size. I will definitely return when I am in the area again.
Great food! Yummy drinks! We had an attentive server and she helped us make a choice on an entree. We would definitely come here again.
We came to Mambo’s as a party of three and were pleasantly surprised by how quickly everything came out—it wasn’t too busy, so service was lightning fast. The free Cuban bread to start is a great touch, and you have to try the papas rellenas and beef empanadas—both were top-notch appetizers. I ordered the churros and someone else at our table had the red snapper—both dishes were absolutely delicious. The decor is vibrant and full of cultural flair, which really adds to the experience. Isabella was our waitress and took fantastic care of us the entire evening. We didn’t catch the live music this time, but I’ve heard Fridays are when the place really comes alive—definitely planning to come back for that. Bonus: there’s plenty of space at the large bar if that’s your vibe. Highly recommend!
My girlfriend recently introduced me to Peruvian food. This place is the best! Decided to actually write a review because after the third visit, it continues to deliver. One of my favorite appetizers is the fried calamari, it hands-down beats any seafood restaurant in the entire area.
I was on a date night at Top Golf and Andrettis. We were looking for a restaurant to go to that was close. We came across Mambo’s Cafe. I’m so glad we did! This is by far my favorite restaurant. I’m literally excited to tell people about it. The flavor of the food is amazing. The service was outstanding. I’ve traveled a lot and have tried many different types of food and I can truly say the food here was some of the best food I’ve ever had. Loved the atmosphere. Such a great experience.
Excellent portion sizes. Black beans were too salty, but I'm glad they put it in a separate bowl. I ordered a very rich and filling cheesy buttery rice with seafood called "arroz con mariscos." It was so greasy because of some kind of rich buttery sauce plus they put extra parmesan cheese on top. It tasted good but it was mostly rice. No vegetables or plaintains included. I ate this dish for like 3 meals. Seafood tasted very fresh. This dish was only a little spicy to me, but kids may find it spicy to them. Lamb shank was very good. Falls right off the bone. Red onion salsa was our favorite. Plaintains is always a favorite. Yuca fries are so good. Good presentation, but I would prefer not to have flowers on my food. Microgreens was a nice nutritious addition to the dish, but still not a lot of vegetables. If you like meat and seafood, this is the place to go. If you're hungry and want to leave stuffed, this is the place to go. Excellent service. Nice clean bathrooms. Nice decor. It made me feel like I was on vacation.
